The parents of my ancestor James Buick, born in 1822, were David Buick and Helen Mitchell.
With a great deal of help from another researcher, I have found 7 children of David & Helen.
One of these was Alexander Ramsay Buick. It was he who signed the death certificate of a David Buick who died in 1860 in Laurencekirk. The death record shows that he was a widower, and, unusually, does not name his wife. But it was signed by Alex Buick, Son, residence Dun.
Alexander Ramsay Buick fathered at least 7 children who were born in Dun between 1855 and 1870.
So the connection is proved.
